Teresa and her MMI medical team have been very busy dealing with disasters. They did a mission in Kenya, Africa helping thousands of displaced people due to massive flooding. They went to Bangladesh, South Asia, which was also in response to flooding - tens of thousands of people displaced, and thousands died. Their third and fourth missions were in Jamaica, in the Caribbean, and North Carolina, US, both in response to hurricanes. Their final mission was in Alaska in conjunction with an organization that provided dental, visual, and medical health.

The Children’s Lunchbox originated with a dedicated emphasis on enhancing child nutrition and addressing food security concerns. Over time, our mission has expanded to support entire families, broadening our impact. We offer a diverse range of nourishing options, including fresh and non-perishable meals packed in pantry boxes. These boxes are distributed through local community programs tailored to serve both children and families. Our prepared meals are delivered to partner sites, ensuring that the essential nutritional support reaches those who need it most. Each pantry box provides a breakfast, lunch, or dinner meal for a family of four and is given out in multiples to feed the whole family.

This discussion will range from the Oscar Anderson House Museum to the Alaska Native Heritage Center and other historic and cultural resources the community is seeking to recognize and carry forward for the next generation.  How do we save historic buildings and put them to good use?  Tom will also highlight upcoming opportunities for how you can get involved in historic preservation in your neighborhood, business district, and community.

Linda will speak of how vital to Alaskan life and tourism all these little businesses, dozens of small community museums, local fire departments and volunteers are to actually having something to see and do beyond Anchorage. She firmly believes that this is extremely important to the culture of Alaska. Linda guesses thinking that the collapse of various aspects of life: Native languages, medical services, collapsing cabins and so on is also important -- and is symbolized somewhat by the melting of the various glaciers, such as Exit, Worthington and Matanuska Glacier on the roads. Mr. Brecht's observation is that some people limit their worrisome moments to their immediate surroundings, including state and national issues, and within rather modest timeframes. He offers his presentation to allow people to expand their scope of worrisome topics by simply looking up at the sky in wonderment of what is out there, which might be fomenting for a surprising if not drastic future, in the relatively near time frame as well as in the longer term. We Help Youth Facing Homelessness in Anchorage, Alaska. We serve young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness or human trafficking with absolute respect and unconditional love. Our ultimate goal is to help each young person move on with their lives in positive ways with counseling, education, stable employment, and secure housing.

Mr. Vigil will enlighten us with information about the FOAST Museum in Anchorage located at 245 W. 5th Ave Ste. 112 ($5.00 entry fee) He will talk about some of their programs and accomplishments. They have Safety Bear Youth Program including water and ice safety, Safety Bear Child IDS Program held at the Palmer & Mat-Su Fair (started in 1975) to name a few. FOAST bought seven of the Police canines (dog program) at $10,000 each. All of their achievements are supported by donations. Wherever there are Troopers in Alaska, youth safety is taught.
